“SHE LOVES WINE, HE LOVES WHISKY"

We are a married couple that enjoys drinking - of course in a responsible and not excessive way - and we love sharing what we try, like and learn, hoping we can help others discover new things and that they enjoy them as much as we do.

We started this journey on Instagram in 2019 (@herwinehiswhisky). It was just a hobby account to share with our friends - who are always asking us for recommendations - and of course with anyone else who found us out there, but as we started learning more about our favorite drinks, we fell deeply in love with the wine and whisky world and we decided to take our passion to the next level.

We are working on our WSET certifications in wine and spirits so we can share with you better tasting notes, be more accurate with our recommendations and share more interesting things along the way. This is only the first step in our dreams related to this industry, we really appreciate that you are here reading this and following along our journey.

Thank you and welcome to our blog!

Her Wine

Hi I'm Anna Mary, I was born in Boston and raised in Venezuela. I’ve been a wine lover since my college years. I was the weirdo in my group of friends, usually at that age most people are intimidated by the wine industry (and still a lot of people of any age are intimidated by it.), but it doesn’t have to be complicated! Wine is meant to be enjoyed and fun like any other kind of drink.

I want to share my favorite wines with you and my journey learning and discovering new ones. I’m not an expert and I believe I’ll never be, because there is always something new to learn.

Right now I’m waiting on the results of my WSET 2 exam and starting to study for WSET 3.

I can’t wait to share this journey with you, learn together and show you that wine is not as intimidating and exclusive as most people perceive it.

His Whisky

Hi I'm Jose Rafael, I'm from Venezuela and I enjoy drinking whisky. I don't know if you knew but at some point Venezuela was one of the largest whisky consumer in the world.

I used to believe I knew about whisky but in reality I only tried 4 brands of blended scotch. 4 years ago I was looking for information about whisky and I found a YouTube channel called "Whiskey Vault" (They are from Austin, where I used to live), I started watching their videos and realized there was a lot of things that I didn’t know about whisky. Differences in taste between regions of Scotland, differences between countries, type of barrels, flavors, etc.

From that moment on, I decided to start buying different bottles each time I ran out of one (whisky, whiskey or bourbon). I'll like to share my experience with you, just keep in mind I’m not an expert, I'm a engineer that likes to drink.
