The Dalmore Sherry Cask Select - 12 year old Scotch Whisky

The Dalmore Distillery🦌 specializes in Single Malt Highland Scotch Whisky🥃, and for over 150 years, has set the standard in multi cask maturation.

This Whisky in particular is maturated in Oloroso Shery wine and Pedro Ximenez wine casks from Jerez, Spain. These 2 kind of Sherry wines are sweet wines🍷 - I'm sure Anna will get more into detail another time - which makes it very different from the Dalmore 12 with more decadent fruit and spices.

It has aromas of oak, the influence of the sherry wine, black plum and raisins. On the palate I got flavors of orange, honey, caramel and clove, with a medium-long finish of orange and dark chocolate. It has a very nice after taste, a little bit bitter, but very pleasant.

I'm not a big fan of the Dalmore 12, but this version on Sherry Cask is very nice and I really enjoyed it. Here it costs $80, which is $20 more expensive that the regular 12 year old, but it's for sure worth the price difference.
