We love Malbec, specially when we eat grilled steak on the weekends. This past weekend when we were enjoying our meal we were talking about wine and we have a little confession that we wanted to share: years ago we thought Malbec was only from Argentina, but it's actually from France.

The problem is that the grapes had poor resistance to weather and pests, so it never surfaced as a top French variety. Nowadays, it grows in 7 countries and Argentina leads the production of it with over 75% of all the acres of Malbec in the world.

Argentinian Malbec is still our favorite Malbec, but not so long ago we tried this one from @raymondvineyard from Napa Valley, California and we LOVED it!!!. Raymond's Small Lot Malbec is a deep purple red with raspberry, red fruits, fresh grass and a little of wood and spices aromas.

It has a rich flavor, fruity and smooth. We were gladly surprise by the low tannin because usually the Malbec wines we have tried are high in tannin, but this one is very easy to enjoy!. For a lot of people Malbec is too strong, dry and hard to drink, but this one might change your mind about Malbec wine so if you are one of those people give this one a try.
