Tokaj is a region of Hungary🇭🇺 that is famous for producing "Tokaji Aszú", a sweet wine made from Furmint grapes.

I know dessert wines are not popular anymore and a lot of people find them outdated, I was one of them, but once I tried this one I loved it! I enjoyed it the most with chocolate chips cookies.

Today I wanted to share my notes on the very first Tokaj wine I ever tasted. It's not a Tokaj Aszú - I'll share one of that kind later if you guys want - This one is a Tokaj Late Harvest called F from Chateau Megyer: It has a pale lemon color with pronounced aromas of jasmine blossom, pear, butterscotch, candy, orange peal, lychee, honey.

It's still a sweet wine like Aszú, but the difference is that this one is aged and fermented in stainless steel to preserve its freshness and fruity flavors (Aszú is fermented and aged in oak). This is an aromatic, fresh and elegant wine with a great balance between sweetness and acidity.

Give it a try by it self and then after taking a bite of something sweet, I promise you the difference will blow your mind.

Tell me, have you ever drink dessert wines? I'm intrigued to know if I was the only one reluctant to try dessert wines.
